American Assisted Living Nurses Association

Our Mission: To promote effective nursing practice in assisted living such that nurses as well as residents benefit.

Ensuring that the voice of assisted living nurses is heard loud and clear as a part of national policy discussions related to assisted living is a national priority for AALNA. In addition to facilitating discussions at the state level via our state chapters, AALNA participates in the following national committees and coalitions:

• The Center for Excellence in Assisted Living (CEAL)
CEAL is a non-profit collaborative of eleven national organizations. CEAL promotes high-quality assisted living, serves as a convener to bring together diverse stakeholders to discuss and examine issues related to assisted living as well as to help bridge research, practice and policies that foster quality and affordability, and maintains an objective national clearinghouse of information and resources about assisted living.

• The Coalition of Geriatric Nursing Organizations (CGNO)
The Coalition of Geriatric Nursing Organizations (CGNO) represents over 28,700 geriatric nurses seeking to improve the health care of older adults across care settings and is supported by the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, located at New York University College of Nursing.
